Skyhawks Welcome Assistant Head Coach Mike Bonner

Mike Bonner comes to the Wenatchee Valley Skyhawks coaching staff after serving as the Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator during the 2018 season for the Omaha Beef. The Omaha Beef finished the season with 2,728 yards of total offense.  In 2017 he signed to be the Offensive Coordinator for the Salina Liberty midway through the season the front office made a switch and he received his first Head Coach opportunity. Coach Bonner secured his first win as head coach while missing four starters on the road against Bloomington Edge 47-28.  

Mike Bonner has coached with current Wenatchee Valley Skyhawks Head Coach Meadow Lemon during their time together with San Angelo Bandits during the 2016 season. Coach Bonner coaching journey has included a few stops in the Indoor Football League (IFL) as an assistant coach most notable with the Green Bay Blizzard during the 2015 season. His other stops include Richmond Revolution and Sioux City Bandits.

Coach Bonner have also spent time of the defensive side of the ball during the 2013 season as the Secondary Coach for the Laredo Rattlesnakes in the (LSFL) Lone Star Football League in Laredo, Texas.  During his time with the Rattlesnakes the team accomplished success with an 8-4 record and was awarded Best Secondary of LSFL that season. Laredo advanced to the 2013 Lone Star Bowl II Championship game which came down to the final seconds with them coming up short to the Amarillo Venom 70-69.

Coach Bonner has also been employed by the United Football League in Game Day Operations for the Omaha Nighthawks during their 2010 inaugural season.
