Skyhawks Reach American West Bowl III

by Ronnie Roosendaal

The Wenatchee Valley Skyhawks went down to Nampa Idaho and played the Idaho Horsemen in a playoff game. The Skyhawks offense was clicking on all cylinders, quarterback Lorenz Stefan was lighting up the boards throwing touchdowns to Max Novak, Jordan Laurencio, Nakia Brown and Martin Tew while Gary Fuller and Calvin Lowe played key roles in the Skyhawks success offensively. The reconstructed offensive line handled business in the trenches led by Marquis DeWeert, Austin Rowley and Derik Huet. The Defense Played great all game with interceptions by Asan Evergin and Ronald Baines. The Defense had great coverage on the back end overall by linebacker Shayden Flint and Defensive Backs Isaiah Syph and EJ Armstrong. The Defensive Line was stuffing the run and getting after the quarterback led by Jay Kennedy, Gabe Collins and Steven Henry. Coaching Staff was on Point. Head Coach Rico Brown said earlier in the season about the amount of adversity the team would be facing and having to overcome. Keeping a positive mindset and working with his Defensive coordinator coach James Gonzalez, Offensive Coordinator Ronnie Roosendaal and Special teams coordinator Irish Blu the Skyhawks have been able to get the job done and put the Skyhawks in their first ever American West Bowl III game. Final score Wenatchee Valley Skyhawks 80 Idaho Horsemen 70 Go Skyhawks!!
